This will be a partial day of school. Details regarding class schedules for the day are available from ParentsWeb.
Covenant School was established in 1983 as a school to serve families. In 1987, we started honoring grandparents because of our desire to support families. The psalmist declares that “each generation tells its children of God’s mighty acts” (Psalm 145:4). This is how God works, one generation to the next.
Because we believe that God established families, because we believe that it honors Him for us to honor grandparents, we celebrate them as well as we know how. “You shall rise up before the grayheaded and honor the aged, and you shall revere your God. . .”
Through the years, Grandparents’ Day has been so successful that the crowd has grown beyond our ability to handle everyone at the same time. Therefore, we break the day into portions so that we can accommodate parking and foot traffic on campus. Grandparents appreciate being honored.
At the same time, we accommodate those students whose grandparents cannot attend 1) by allowing substitute “grandparents” and 2) by allowing those who have no place to be other than school to be part of the day. All teachers will be in place for that purpose.
