NEWS FLASH!
Collaborative artwork by our Jr. High Art Students, to preview the "Calling All Angels" show next fall at The Eastern Shore Art Center, is currently on display at the art center in Fairhope.
The "Tie Up Some Love" show, with our 2nd - 6th grade art students may be seen at the Pelican's Palette at Thomas Hospital in Daphne.
Art work of our students who participated in the “FACES: Face All Cancer and
Emerge with Strength” Show, is on display at the University of South Alabama
Library, 3rd floor gallery,
May 1-June 30. Free to the public.
Previous Accomplishments:
***2nd, 3rd, & junior High Art student work was included in this year’s “Bay Area Art Educators Show”. The show ran until May
4th, at Colonial-Bel-Air Mall.
***Junior High Art Students participated in two art shows at the
Eastern Shore Art Center: "Facing the Future" and "House Pets".
***They have also entered work which ran at the Exploreum's recent show entitled
"Vanessa & the
Tin Man.
***CONGRATULATIONS to Laura L., 1st District Winner in the 2008 “Visual Arts Achievement Awards”.
***Jr Hi art students and bells band students recently worked on a collaborative art project which reflects their thoughts about what “ties” art & music together. This show entitled, “Collaborative Pieces, Collaborative Arts”, is currently on display at the Exploreum Café in downtown Mobile. It was a wonderful experience to bring the 2 art forms together in for the March celebrations of “Youth Art Month” and “Music In Our Schools”.
***Congratulations go to Emaleigh S., whose artwork was selected as the cover art for the Winter 2008 edition of “The National Art Education Association Journal”. Her artwork was the only original artwork in the journal!
***Our Junior High Art Students recently had the opportunity to work with the Space 301 Centre on a very unique GPS are project. Their art work has been included in the show entitled "Registering the Invisible". The opening reception was on 1/6. The show will run from 1/11-3/9 at Space 301, located at 6 South Joachim Street.
**The Junior High's traveling jeans are currently traveling around Dallas, TX. Congratulations to our 2006-07 3rd, 4th and 7th grade art students! These winning jeans continue to travel throughout the country.
**Student artwork (grades K5-3rd and Jr. High) was on display at Colonial Bel Air Mall from 4/22-4/29/07, near the Picadilly Cafeteria entrance.
** CCS student artwork (grades K5-3rd) was on display at the Bay Bears game on 4/30/07.
**The Junior High Art Club has been featured in the spring 2007 edition of "The National Junior Art Honor Society". The artwork of Emaleigh S., Caroline B., and Lauren B. was selected to represent CCS!!
